The year is again drawing to an end, and it’s time to look reminisce everything that has happened during the past 12 months. This time, it’s a lot! On the brink of 2018 we are looking back at a year full of new areas of operation, new interesting people and more users of the ParkMan parking app than ever.
New markets, new areas!
During this year, we’ve continued to expand around Europe and beyond. We’ve started operating in several new countries, making it to a total of seven ParkMan countries.
At the very beginning of the year, we launched our service in Italy, in Sicily to be more precise. A few months later it was time for the neighbouring Spain, where our journey started from the city of Léon.
Our biggest achievement of the year was perhaps our arrival on a whole new continent – in May 2017, we started operations in the United States. To cap a great year of expansion, ParkMan arrived in Lithuania, where our parking app is now in use in the city of Klaipeda.
Additionally, our existing markets have been growing too, as we have partnered up with for example Q8 gas stations in Denmark and Digiwash car washes in Finland. This means that motorists in these countries now have even more places where they can make use of our app, and that we have new interesting partners to collaborate with.
New team members!
As is natural when a business grows, the team behind that business also welcomes new people. We’ve gotten some great new additions, and we are now up to 24 of people. Our team is scattered between Denmark, Spain, the U.S. and our headquarters in the Finnish capital of Helsinki.
So that it’s not all serious business, we’ve done some pretty fun things as a team this year. We’ve gone for instance bowling, mini golfing and trampolining (the latter of which proved unanimously to be everyone’s favorite) – not to mention the countless lunches, coffee breaks, and meetings. It’s super important for us to have a good and tight team and we will continue to come up with ways to make working for better parking not just rewarding, but also fun. We’ll keep the team interviews coming to acquaint you better with each of our lovely personas!

It’s our pride to always be improving our service, and during the year we’ve logged a lot of new ideas and improvement suggestions based on customer feedback. The best way to develop a truly usable application is to tune in to the thoughts of the users, and that’s exactly what we want to do in the future as well.

Safe to say that we’re looking back at 2017 with a smile on our faces, but also looking forward with great excitement. After the end-of-year festivities are over, we’ll be packed full with energy, ready to do some pretty awesome things- things that you will hear about soon, so stay tuned!
